In a recent move, the Dagestan branch of Rosselkhoznadzor has taken decisive action by suspending 20 grain declarations, totaling more than 62,000 tons, due to discrepancies found in their reporting. This decision follows an extensive review conducted between September 2 and 5, 2024, which revealed that many declarations were incomplete and failed to include necessary tests. The omissions included missing pesticide residue analyses, pest contamination assessments, and harmful impurity content checks.

Since the beginning of the year, Rosselkhoznadzor in Dagestan has identified 258 instances of false grain declarations, affecting over 710,000 tons of grain. This highlights a troubling trend in the accuracy of grain reporting and the effectiveness of regulatory compliance.

To address these issues, Rosselkhoznadzor is intensifying its oversight measures and enforcement actions. The agency’s ongoing efforts aim to ensure that all grain declarations meet the required standards for safety and quality, ultimately protecting the interests of consumers and maintaining the integrity of the agricultural sector.

The recent suspension of grain declarations in Dagestan underscores significant challenges in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of grain reporting. With a substantial volume of grain affected, it is crucial for regulatory bodies to enhance their scrutiny and enforce stricter compliance measures to uphold industry standards and safeguard public trust.
