In August 2024, Krasnodar Krai achieved a remarkable 68% increase in rail grain shipments, reaching 160,000 tons compared to the same period in 2023. This data, reported by Russian Railways (RZD), highlights a significant boost in grain transport, reflecting the region’s expanded agricultural output and logistical capabilities.

For the first eight months of 2024, grain loading in Krasnodar Krai exceeded 600,000 tons, marking an 8.5% increase over the previous year. This growth is mirrored in the region’s export performance, with a 10% rise in grain exports from January to July 2024, totaling over 30 million tons. Notably, wheat accounted for over 80% of these exports, with more than 25 million tons shipped—a 4% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

The main destinations for Krasnodar Krai’s grain exports include Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, reflecting a diverse and expanding international market. This increase in grain handling and exports underscores Krasnodar Krai’s growing significance in global grain trade.

The substantial rise in rail grain shipments in Krasnodar Krai and the notable increase in grain exports highlight the region’s growing importance in global agriculture. As grain transport and export volumes continue to rise, Krasnodar Krai is solidifying its position as a key player in the international grain market.
