Diverse Investment Prospects in Prime Agricultural Regions
Several prime agricultural properties are now on the market, presenting substantial opportunities for investors and farming enterprises. These include the Staplegrove Aggregation in New South Wales, Oolloo Road in the Northern Territory, and the Hollymount and Mt Driven Aggregation in Queensland. Each offers unique advantages in terms of location, crop potential, and existing infrastructure.
Staplegrove Aggregation, NSW
The Staplegrove Aggregation, located at the southern end of the Liverpool Plains in northern New South Wales, is anticipated to fetch over $45 million. Spanning 3088 hectares, it includes the properties Staplegrove (1714ha), Brenand (1021ha), and Glendower (353ha). This high-rainfall area features deep black self-mulching clay soils and pockets of chocolate basalt soils, making it ideal for both dryland cropping and grazing.
Approximately 2200 hectares are planted with a variety of winter and summer crops, including wheat, barley, chickpeas, faba beans, canola, sorghum, and cotton. The remaining 888 hectares are dedicated to grazing. The aggregation benefits from creek frontages, seasonal waterways, and bores, ensuring reliable water supply. Infrastructure on the property includes a home, two cottages, cattle yards, numerous sheds, a grain dryer, and 3800 tonnes of grain storage. The sale, managed by LAWD agent George Barton, is offered either as a whole or in separate lots, with the deadline for expressions of interest set for August 15.

Oolloo Road, NT
The Oolloo Road property in the Douglas Daly region of the Northern Territory is on the market with expectations exceeding $15 million. Owned by Black Kite, the investment vehicle of Harvard University’s staff pension fund, this 1798-hectare property is well-suited for high-value cropping, including cotton, horticulture, and intensive fodder production.
The property features 1160 hectares of dryland cropping and an additional 637 hectares developed for dripline irrigation supporting an existing Indian sandalwood plantation. Groundwater from the Oolloo Dolostone Aquifer, with an annual extraction capacity of 4850ML, supports the irrigation needs. The property includes four homes, two staff accommodation units, numerous sheds, and high-quality irrigation infrastructure. LAWD agents Olivia Thompson, Danny Thomas, and Erica Semmens are handling the sale, with expressions of interest closing on August 8.
Hollymount and Mt Driven Aggregation, Qld
The Hollymount and Mt Driven Aggregation in southern Queensland, owned by the Hailiang Australian Land Investment Company, is also up for sale. These adjoining properties, located 51km southeast of St George, span a total of 61,007 hectares. The diverse portfolio includes a mix of cropping and grazing land, with Hollymount comprising 34,046 hectares and Mt Driven encompassing 26,960 hectares.
Hollymount features 3500 hectares of dryland cultivation, 3500 hectares of converted buffel pasture, and extensive grazing land. It is watered by two bores and 30 dams. Mt Driven includes 18,760 hectares of established pastures, 1800 hectares of cleared cultivation, and access to the Moonie River and additional bores. Both properties have significant infrastructure, including homes, cattle yards, sheds, and silos.
