Agricultural producers in Primorsky Krai will gather on September 18–19 for the annual Field Day seminar in Ussuriysk, a key event for sharing knowledge and introducing the latest advancements in corn and soybean cultivation. Organized with support from the regional government, the event will feature 10 agribusinesses and three research institutions presenting 67 corn hybrids, 50 soybean varieties, and advanced crop protection strategies.
Boosting Yields with High-Performance Hybrids
With corn and soybeans being major export crops for Russia’s Far East, selecting the right hybrids is crucial for maximizing yields. Recent trials in the region have demonstrated that modern corn hybrids can achieve 8–12 tons per hectare under optimal conditions, while high-yielding soybean varieties can produce 2.5–3.5 tons per hectare (Russian Agricultural Ministry, 2023). The event will allow farmers to compare these hybrids in real field conditions before making investment decisions.
Integrated Crop Protection & Agri-Tech Innovations
Beyond seeds, the seminar will highlight:
- Precision agronomy tools for nutrient and pest management.
- New-generation herbicides and fungicides tailored for Far Eastern climates.
- Modern farm machinery, including planters and harvesters optimized for local soil conditions.
Governor Oleg Kozhemyako has emphasized that agricultural development remains a top priority for Primorsky Krai. The region has seen increased production of rice, vegetables, and soybeans, alongside investments in upgrading farm machinery fleets.
A Hub for Agri-Innovation
The Field Day in Ussuriysk is more than just an exhibition—it’s a critical platform for knowledge exchange that helps farmers adopt higher-yielding hybrids and smarter farming techniques. As global demand for grains and oilseeds grows, such events play a vital role in strengthening Russia’s agricultural competitiveness.
