In recent years, Linhe District of Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia, has embraced technological innovations to revolutionize its agricultural sector. The integration of advanced technologies is infusing new vitality into traditional farming practices, steering the district toward high-quality agricultural development.

Automated Seedling Cultivation: A Technological Leap

During the critical period of pepper seedling cultivation, farmers in Minzhu Village, Ganzhaomiao Town, have adopted fully automated plug seeders for precise sowing. These machines accurately place individual pepper seeds into seedling trays, followed by soil covering and leveling, streamlining the entire process. This automation not only enhances efficiency but also ensures uniform seed placement, providing each seed with an optimal growth environment.

Precision Irrigation: The Role of Technology

In the 10,000-mu hard wheat green high-yield and high-efficiency demonstration area of Langshan Town, wheat uniform sowing machines equipped with the Beidou navigation system distribute seeds evenly across the fields. Concurrently, in Jinbu Village, Shuanghe Town, a 10,000-mu “5G+smart planting” demonstration area utilizes a digital, fully automated irrigation system. Farmers can remotely control water distribution, fertilization, and pesticide application via mobile devices, allowing precise water supply based on actual field needs. This intelligent management approach significantly reduces labor and time costs, embodying the transition toward smart and refined agricultural production.

Drone-Assisted Crop Protection: Ensuring Harvests

From mid-May to mid-June, during the critical heading and grain-filling stages of Hetao wheat, the Linhe District Agricultural Science Bureau intensifies technical services by organizing “one spray and three defenses” operations. In the expansive wheat fields of Langshan Town’s demonstration area, multiple plant protection drones, operated by technicians, fly steadily over the crops, performing these essential tasks. This method provides nutrients necessary for wheat growth, promotes development, and lays a solid foundation for abundant harvests.

By integrating advanced technologies into various agricultural processes, Linhe District exemplifies how traditional farming can evolve into a more intelligent and quality-focused industry. These technological interventions not only enhance efficiency and reduce labor costs but also improve crop yields and quality, offering valuable insights for regions aiming to modernize their agricultural practices.
