Rice farmers in Mbogwe District, Geita Region, have embraced significant improvements in their farming practices through the TAISP field schools initiative. Coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture, these field schools emphasize proper farm preparation, the use of high-quality seeds like Saro 5, and precise fertilizer application methods such as DAP and UREA. Farmers, organized under groups like The Gardenners, have reported enhanced yields and better pest control measures following training sessions conducted since January 1, 2024.

The TAISP project has not only provided crucial agricultural inputs free of charge but also imparted essential knowledge that enhances productivity and sustainability. Farmers appreciate the support and expertise brought by TAISP, highlighting its role in fostering agricultural development in rural Tanzania.

The success of TAISP field schools in Mbogwe District underscores the importance of knowledge-sharing and resource accessibility in agricultural development. By empowering farmers with practical skills and essential inputs, TAISP contributes significantly to improving livelihoods and food security in the region.
