In the volatile world of agriculture, a successful harvest is the ultimate measure of an enterprise’s resilience. Agrokholding Doronichi, a key agricultural holding in the Volga Federal District, has demonstrated precisely that, navigating a season of exceptional climatic difficulty to secure a substantial harvest. Operating on a vast scale across the Kirov and Ulyanovsk regions, the company has reported a total harvest exceeding 150,000 tonnes, a testament to its robust operational framework and diversified crop strategy.

Scale and Scope of Operations

The 2025 harvest was a massive logistical undertaking. The total harvested area spanned more than 56,000 hectares, with 33,600 hectares dedicated to spring grains and rapeseed. This scale solidifies Doronichi’s position as a leader in its region, particularly in the Kirov Oblast where it holds one of the largest land banks. The holding’s “field-to-plate” integrated model means that this harvest is the foundational step for its downstream operations in dairy, meat, and poultry farming.

Crop-Specific Performance in a Tough Season

The past spring and summer were described by the company’s specialists as an “unprecedented challenge,” with weather conditions not seen in many years. Despite this, the harvest data reveals significant achievements:

  • Total Grain (bunker weight): 103,500 tonnes
  • Total Grain and Winter Crops: 99,000 tonnes
  • Barley: 45,500 tonnes, with a yield of 34.7 centners per hectare (approximately 3.47 metric tons per hectare).
  • Wheat: 33,900 tonnes
  • Winter Rye: 11,000 tonnes

This diversified portfolio, which also includes oats, peas, rapeseed, buckwheat, flax, mustard, and sunflower, spreads economic and agronomic risk. Notably, 2025 marked the first year the company planted experimental areas of soybeans and lentils, indicating a strategic move towards incorporating higher-value and niche crops into its rotation.

Supporting Integrated Livestock Operations

Beyond cash crops, the harvest campaign is crucial for the holding’s animal husbandry divisions. A massive 677,000 tonnes of silage was harvested using various methods. This ensures a reliable and high-quality feed supply for the company’s dairy, beef, and poultry enterprises, creating a closed-loop system that enhances overall food security and profitability for the holding.

Agrokholding Doronichi’s 2025 harvest results are a powerful case study in agricultural resilience. By managing a vast and diverse crop portfolio across multiple regions, the holding was able to withstand significant weather adversity and secure a substantial yield. The success is twofold: it demonstrates effective large-scale crop management and underscores the strength of an integrated “field-to-plate” model, where crop production directly sustains and stabilizes livestock operations. For agricultural professionals, Doronichi’s season reinforces the critical importance of diversification, scale, and vertical integration as strategic buffers against the increasing unpredictability of modern farming.
