According to the latest data from China’s National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration (June 13), over 17 million tons of summer wheat have already been procured nationwide, progressing faster than the same period last year. The total procurement for the new season is estimated at 85 million tons, maintaining the high levels seen in recent years.

High-Quality Harvest and Strong Market Preparedness

Field surveys from major production areas indicate that procurement stations are well-prepared in terms of storage capacity, funding, and personnel. This year’s new wheat crop is reported to have better overall quality compared to previous years, making it highly desirable for processing.

Policy Support for Stable Farmer Income

China continues to implement minimum purchase price policies for wheat and rice in key production regions. For example, in Henan province, 236 state-approved procurement depots have been set up, ensuring farmers can sell their grain quickly and conveniently. Additionally, the government is promoting farmer-enterprise partnerships and encouraging diverse market participation to enhance trading activity.

The summer wheat procurement season is progressing smoothly, backed by strong policy support and improved grain quality. With efficient logistics and guaranteed pricing, farmers can expect stable returns, reinforcing confidence in China’s agricultural supply chain.
