As of March 18, 2025, approximately 72,962 farmers in Indore district have registered for wheat procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The registration window remains open until March 31, with procurement activities scheduled to conclude by May 5. The MSP for wheat this season is set at ₹2,600 per quintal, which includes a base MSP of ₹2,425 and an additional bonus of ₹175 provided by the state government.

Across Madhya Pradesh, around 1 million farmers have registered for wheat procurement under the MSP scheme. In the Indore division, district-wise registration figures are as follows:

  • Burhanpur: 160 farmers
  • Khargone: 4,305 farmers
  • Barwani: 577 farmers
  • Alirajpur: 85 farmers
  • Khandwa: 11,560 farmers
  • Dhar: 20,647 farmers
  • Jhabua: 3,934 farmers
  • Indore: 31,694 farmers

These figures highlight the proactive approach of farmers in securing fair prices for their produce. The MSP system serves as a safety net, ensuring that farmers receive a guaranteed price, thereby protecting them from market fluctuations.

The robust participation of farmers in the MSP registration process underscores their awareness and initiative in leveraging government schemes for their benefit. Timely registration and adherence to procurement schedules are crucial for maximizing the advantages offered by the MSP system. As the registration deadline approaches, it is imperative for all eligible farmers to complete their registrations to ensure they receive the support and fair pricing guaranteed by the government.
