Streamlining Export Processes: Argentina Reduces Required Declarations for Agricultural Products

Argentina’s government has halved the number of agricultural products subject to Export Declarations (DJVE), under Resolution 50/2024, published in the Official Gazette. This move aims to simplify export procedures, lower administrative burdens, and mitigate potential penalties for non-compliance. Among the products affected are legumes (green and yellow peas, chickpeas, various types of beans, and lentils), rice (in various forms), peanuts, maize (popcorn and oil), wheat by-products, and others typically exported via containers.

These regulatory adjustments align with broader government initiatives to streamline agricultural regulations, foster fair competition, and boost export volumes. Measures such as reducing annual submissions to the Agricultural Simplification System (SISA), simplifying the Registry of Operators in the Agro-industrial Chain (RUCA), and lifting restrictions on meat exports highlight Argentina’s commitment to enhancing sector efficiency and supporting economic growth.

Argentina’s strategic reforms in agricultural export regulations are pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency and competitiveness in global markets. By reducing bureaucratic hurdles and fostering a more conducive business environment, these changes are expected to stimulate growth and sustainability across the agro-industrial sector.
