The Jones family’s expansive farming enterprise in New South Wales’ Central West attracts both farmers and investors alike

Nestled near Trundle and spanning 8828 hectares, the Darriwell Aggregation stands as a testament to six decades of dedication and innovation in mixed farming. Managed by brothers Russell, Lloyd, and Geoffrey Jones, this family-owned estate has become synonymous with high productivity and sustainable land management practices.

The aggregation’s operations are as diverse as they are efficient: Lloyd oversees the expansive cropping program, which currently features 2355 hectares of wheat and 1083 hectares of canola. These crops flourish underpinned by rich red loam soils and modern agricultural techniques such as in-crop sprays and precision fertilization.

Meanwhile, Russell manages the esteemed Darriwell Merino and Poll Merino studs, a cornerstone of the property’s livestock enterprises. With 7000 breeding ewes, these studs are renowned for their quality and consistency, contributing significantly to the estate’s profitability.

Geoffrey focuses on the production of crossbred lambs, an operation that has earned accolades for its size and efficiency. The aggregation’s infrastructure supports these endeavors with four shearing sheds, extensive grain storage facilities capable of holding 4000 tonnes, and numerous sheds and sheep yards strategically placed across the property.

Beyond its operational prowess, the Darriwell Aggregation is also a model of sustainability. The property boasts well-contoured dams that efficiently capture rain runoff, ensuring reliable water supply throughout the year. This commitment to environmental stewardship has not only enhanced productivity but also positioned the estate as a desirable investment opportunity.

Currently on the market, the aggregation has garnered significant interest from both farming families looking to expand and institutional investors seeking stable returns. With its scale, efficiency, and strategic location in New South Wales’ agricultural heartland, the Darriwell Aggregation represents a rare opportunity to acquire a legacy of agricultural excellence.

Expressions of interest for this premier agricultural asset close on August 15, promising a new chapter in the storied history of the Jones family’s farming legacy.
