Belarus’ 2025 agricultural season is well underway, with regional contributions highlighting the country’s strong performance in grain, oilseeds, and forage production. According to the latest press release, key regional outputs include:

  • Brest Oblast: 1,310 thousand tons (leading producer)
  • Minsk Oblast: 1,086 thousand tons
  • Grodno Oblast: 1,048 thousand tons
  • Gomel Oblast: 593 thousand tons
  • Mogilev Oblast: 574 thousand tons
  • Vitebsk Oblast: 398 thousand tons

Grain and Legume Harvest: 50% Complete

Farmers have harvested 1.003 million hectares (50% of the planned area) of cereals and legumes, excluding corn, buckwheat, and millet. This progress sets a strong foundation for meeting national food security and export targets.

State Procurement Progress

  • Food grain deliveries: 171,000 tons (24% of the annual target)
  • Rapeseed oilseeds: 83,000 tons (87% of the target)

Forage Production: Meeting Livestock Needs

The forage harvest is advancing steadily, with notable progress in:

  • Flax pulling: 28,000 hectares (58% of the target)
  • Second-cut grass mowing: 895,000 hectares (84% of the plan)
  • Hay production: 321,000 tons (44% of the target)
  • Silage production: 11.47 million tons (82% of the plan), including 360,000 tons in polymer-wrapped bales
  • Total grass forage: 3.482 million tons (35% of the target)

Key Takeaways for Agricultural Efficiency

  1. Regional Leadership: Brest and Minsk Oblasts continue to dominate grain production, reinforcing their role as agricultural hubs.
  2. Rapeseed Success: With 87% of the state procurement target met, Belarus is on track for a strong oilseed export season.
  3. Forage Preparedness: High silage production ensures stable feed supplies for livestock through winter.

A Strong Harvest Season in Progress

Belarus’ 2025 agricultural campaign demonstrates robust progress across grains, oilseeds, and forage crops. Continued focus on:

  • Efficient harvesting techniques
  • Meeting state procurement goals
  • Optimizing forage quality

will ensure food security and economic stability for the coming year.
