Exploring Innovations, Sustainability, and Future Farming Technologies
The Australian Cotton Conference 2024 has officially kicked off on the Gold Coast, bringing together over 2500 industry delegates from across Australia and beyond. The three-day biennial event, themed “Cultivating Excellence,” promises an immersive experience with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and the future of cotton farming.
With 160 speakers and panellists, the conference offers a rich program that spans 29 sessions covering diverse topics such as soil health, cover cropping, carbon farming, and the integration of artificial intelligence in cotton production. The event also boasts the largest trade display in the history of Australia’s cotton industry, featuring more than 120 exhibitors showcasing the latest in farming technologies and products.
A key highlight of the conference is its emphasis on sustainability. Attendees will gain insights into the environmental credentials of Australian cotton, including strategies for reducing carbon footprints and enhancing water management. Additionally, global supply and demand dynamics will be analyzed, with a focus on their implications for the Australian market and the international fiber trade.
Coinciding with the Summer Olympics in Paris, the conference introduces an exciting “Going for Gold” session, dedicated to future farming technologies. An Olympic Lounge has also been set up, allowing delegates to enjoy live Olympic action during breaks.
The conference will culminate with the prestigious Cotton Industry Awards dinner, where the most outstanding contributors to the industry will be recognized. Awards such as the Bayer Cotton Grower of the Year, AgriRisk High Achiever of the Year, and several others will honor those who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in their work.
This gathering not only celebrates the achievements of the Australian cotton industry but also provides a platform for networking, learning, and sharing ideas that will shape the future of cotton farming.
