Investment in Agricultural Equipment Benefits Hundreds of Farming Families in Nova Prata do Iguaçu

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) of Brazil recently delivered a significant array of agricultural equipment to Nova Prata do Iguaçu municipality in Paraná. The ceremony, held on Tuesday, emphasized the transformative impact of these investments on local agricultural communities.

Cleverson Freitas, Superintendent of Agriculture and Livestock in Paraná, underscored the importance of this initiative, noting its potential to benefit over 500 families in the region. “With a total investment nearing R$ 1 million, these equipment acquisitions will significantly contribute to the development of Nova Prata do Iguaçu,” Freitas explained.

The equipment, acquired through two agreements between the municipality and Mapa, includes two tractors, a trailer, a vacuum liquid fertilizer distributor, and a solid lime and organic fertilizer distributor. These resources are specifically targeted at small family farmers and associations engaged in the production of maize, soybean, wheat, beans, poultry farming, beef cattle, and dairy production.

The primary objectives of this equipment provision are to enhance agricultural production, optimize soil use, and improve soil fertility in areas with lower agricultural potential. These efforts align with the National Program for Degraded Pastures, established in 2023 under Decree No. 11,815.

Freitas further emphasized that “the delivery of these equipment sets an important milestone in strengthening local agriculture and promoting sustainable development in the region, a key commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.”
