Ministers Sign MOU to Foster Collaboration in Agriculture and Rural Development
The Ministers of Agriculture from Bulgaria and North Macedonia, Ivan Ivanov and Ljupcho Nikolovski respectively, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture, agricultural sciences, rural areas, and forestry. This agreement follows a joint government meeting held in Sofia, emphasizing mutual interests and shared goals in advancing agricultural practices and rural development.
Minister Ivan Ivanov expressed optimism about the prospects of this collaboration, highlighting its potential to identify and prioritize key areas for partnership between the two countries. The meeting underscored a commitment to deepen existing relations and achieve tangible, mutually beneficial outcomes.
Key provisions of the memorandum include enhancing cooperation through the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge, facilitating the transfer of expertise, and promoting the sharing of best practices. The Bulgarian side, drawing on its experience with EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), will provide guidance and support to North Macedonia in leveraging similar frameworks to enhance agricultural development.
