A New Era of High-Yield Agriculture

Zambia Seed Company, in collaboration with Ethio Agri Ceft under the MIDROC Investment Group, is thrilled to announce the launch of its innovative ZMS721 maize seed in Ethiopia. This cutting-edge seed variety is set to transform maize farming, offering farmers a sustainable solution to the challenges they face in medium to high-altitude regions.

The ZMS721 maize seed has been engineered for exceptional performance, boasting high yield potential of up to 130 quintals per hectare. What sets this seed apart is its remarkable resilience; it is both drought-resistant and disease-tolerant, ensuring that farmers can cultivate maize even in the face of adverse climatic conditions. This is particularly crucial for Ethiopia, where agriculture is a vital component of the economy and where climate change poses significant challenges.

To showcase the capabilities of the ZMS721 maize seed, field days are scheduled to take place in the Serto and Jimma zones. These events will provide farmers with firsthand experience of the seed’s performance, allowing them to see the potential benefits for their own farming practices. By equipping farmers with high-quality seeds and the knowledge to use them effectively, ZAMSEED aims to empower the agricultural community in Ethiopia and enhance food security in the region.

This collaboration between ZAMSEED and Ethio Agri Ceft represents a commitment to advancing agricultural practices in Ethiopia. Together, they are shaping the future of maize farming, ensuring that farmers have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive.

As the agricultural landscape continues to evolve, initiatives like this are essential in driving innovation and sustainability within the sector. With the introduction of the ZMS721 maize seed, ZAMSEED is not just providing a product; they are fostering a movement towards modern, efficient, and resilient farming practices that can withstand the test of time.
